Dear RaJenBabies,

Congratulations! We have made it to another gestational mile-marker: 28 weeks! We are certainly in the homestretch now. Still several things to cross of our list of preparations, but we’re doing well. You both just stay in your Womb a few weeks longer.

This past weekend, some wonderful friends hosted a fabulous event at which you were showered with gifts. It was wonderful to be surrounded by such great friends and, to be honest, I’m not sure how it is that we got the honor of being able to call them that. Everyone is excited to see you when you get here, which is at most eight or nine weeks away even though it feels like less than that.

We played a game where you had to guess what was in the baby food jar. This is a picture of Matou and me trying to figure them out.

In the end, I only got 3 of the 10 correct. But that’s because I put “peas” down for at least five selections. Which is probably why we’ll try to make you your food in the blender when Stage 1 foods come along.

The hosts with the mosts had ordered and sent out cute invitations and they were kind enough to save two of them. For your baby books. Not that we’ll ever be able to display them in their full glory. You see, one of our dogs – and we’re not naming names, but we have an idea of who did it – got to the invitation that used to have a piece of Wrigley Spearmint Gum at the top. If you look closely, you can still see foil remnants. As for the rest of the remnants, well, I bet we’ll be seeing something shiny in the back yard during the next poo-picking.

As for your poo picking, we’re stocked up on lots of diapers as your digestive systems continue to mature. We also read that you are in the process of developing
billions of neurons in your brains, no doubt millions of which will be drowned away in your young adulthood. I think I just gave myself hives.

In the next couple days, we’ll go to the doctor for a check-up and get to see you on the RJB-TV. You continue to be active in my belly and we enjoy touching your knee or foot or bottom when you press them against the outside of my belly. It’s been nearly a month since we saw you last so Matou and I are really looking forward to it. Be sure and wave, ok? Because no doubt within a few years, you’ll be wanting us to drop you off a block away.

By your side,

Mommy and Matou
